The only way to change that stereotype is to use the word proudly and prove that we're not immoral and everything. If you go to a different word, eventually that will become a stereotype as well. Well, a lot of us have to remain in the closets still due to family and work situations. The last thing we need is our fundamentalist Christian relatives hounding us to no end about our beliefs or losing our jobs due to discrimination. So until Christianity goes the way of the dinosaurs, I'm keeping my mouth shut except around close friends and certain relatives I can trust to not go fundy on me.
